Hi, I'm Emma!
Since I was a child, I’ve loved reading and writing. Now as an adult, I’ve turned it into a career. I’m a freelance writer, journalist and digital producer. I write all types of content spanning from a political feature, to an interview human-interest feature, to travel writing. In my job as a writer I’ve interviewed talent spanning from singer Thelma Plum to Indigenous Affairs Minister Linda Burney.
My job takes me everywhere. From filming on the streets of Perth, to interviewing politicians on the phone and even overseas to report on fashion runways and designers! Whether I’m analysing a report or interviewing talent, you’ll find me using the written and the digital to communicate with readers.

My career started whilst I was still a student! I’ve worked for a number of Perth-based and international creative industries. You can find my words in Popsugar AU, Pedestrian TV, Fashion Journal, Healthline and the ABC, to name a few!
Are you qualified?
After I finished my degree, I turned down a job offer in the midst of Covid-19 (I’m crazy) to complete my Honours. I can safely say it was the best and most stressful year of my life. I wrote my thesis on the prevailing post-colonial discourses prevalent in the Harry Potter series and I achieved first class honours! Maybe I’ll complete my PhD one day and then people will have to call me Doctor Emma!
